Right-wing activist and cow vigilante, Puneeth Kerehalli having over 14 criminal cases pending against him, was arrested by Basavanagudi police under preventive action.
The Basavanagudi police considering his involvement in anti-social activities booked him under section 127 (wrongful confinement as restraining a person to prevent them from moving beyond certain limited boundaries) of BNS and asked him to give an undertaking that he will not be involved in any anti-social or criminal activities, and not disturb law and order and peace in the society. The accused refused to do so following which he was produced before the executive magistrate.
After he reiterated his decision not to give undertaking, the police arrested him and remanded to judicial custody.
