An inmate of the Shivamogga Central Prison died at McGann Hospital in the city on Thursday, September 18, following illness.
The deceased has been identified as Mansoor, 43, of Tipu Nagar in Shivamogga. He developed health complications Wednesday midnight, following which he was rushed to the McGann Hospital, where he died around 8.15 a.m on Thursday.
The Tunga Nagar Police arrested Mansoor on charges of attempt to murder on September 14. He was remanded to judicial custody the following day.
