Prime Minister Narendra Modi offered prayers at the famous Jyothirlinga shrine of Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy temple at Srisailam on Thursday (October 16).

The Prime Minister arrived at the Orvakal airport in Kurnool district in the morning and was accorded a grand welcome by Governor S. Abdul Naseer, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan and others.

Accompanied by Mr. Naidu and Mr. Pawan Kalyan, the Prime Minister reached Sunnipenta in a helicopter and from there reached Srisailam.

Nearly 8,000 Shiv Sevaks, clad in saffron robes, welcomed Mr. Narendra Modi from Nandi Mandapam circle to Gangadhara Mandapam chanting ‘Har Har Mahadev’. The Prime Minister was accorded the traditional ‘purnakumbha swagatham’ and was welcomed into the main temple. After offering prayers to the Dwajasthambham, Mr. Narendra Modi offered prayers and performed rituals like Ekavara Rudrabhisekham, Bilvarchana, pushparchana, and maha mangala harathi to Lord Mallikarjuna Swamy. He was offered tirtha prasadams by the temple priests.

At the Goddess Bhramaramba temple, Mr. Narendra Modi performed kumkumarchana to Sri Chakram and was offered harathi. From there, the Prime Minister visited the Shivaji Spurti Kendra and went around the Shivaji Durbar Hall and meditation halls.
