Political parties condole death in ammonia leak at seafood processing unit in Tiruvallur district

Leaders of various political parties, including the AIADMK, the BJP, and the AMMK, expressed shock and condoled the deaths of migrant workers in the ammonia leak at a seafood processing unit in Tiruvallur district on Sunday. They urged the TVK-led government to ensure the safety of people by conducting regular checks at industrial units.

AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami urged the State government to ensure appropriate medical treatment to those affected by the incident. He further urged the government to ensure safety guidelines were followed at industrial units through regular inspections.

BJP State unit president Nainar Nagenthran urged Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay for regular inspection of industrial units to ensure the safety of workers. He also urged the State government to extend appropriate medical treatment to those affected in the incident.

AMMK founder T.T.V. Dhinakaran urged the State government to check if safety guidelines were being followed at industrial units. Expressing shock over the deaths in the incident, Mr. Dhinakaran wished a speedy recovery to those who were hospitalised due to the leak.
