the Nandyal police responded to a distress call and rescued the passengers and staff of a private bus that was stuck in the overflowing waters of a local tank in Uyyalawada mandal on Saturday morning.

According to the police, a bus belonging to PRL Travels was on its way to Pulivendula from Hyderabad when it got stuck in the waters at Govindapalle. There were 35 passengers, including children, in the bus.

The passengers dialled ‘100’ and Uyyalawada sub-inspector Rami Reddy rushed to the spot with JCBs and tractors, and after two-and-half hours, they rescued the passengers. The bus was pulled out of the waters with a crane.
