Police intensified crackdown against gambling activities in Sri Sathya Sai district over the last two days carrying out raids in Madakasira and Talupula mandals and detaining several persons allegedly linked to organised betting operations.

Police raided a gambling spot on the outskirts of Rallapalli village on Friday night following specific information. Ten people were taken into custody during the operation. Officials seized ₹52,000 in cash along with five motorcycles from the spot. However, a few suspects, including the alleged organiser, identified as Eeranna, fled the scene before police could nab them. A search party was formed to trace him.

Several persons allegedly participating in gambling activities were detained, while police seized ₹25,500 in cash from the spot. The alleged organiser was also arrested.
