A 23-year-old person was hacked to death allegedly by two minor boys at Mattapparai near Karur on Thursday.
According to sources, two persons, aged 17, allegedly attacked Kavin of Vijayapuram, son of Tamilmani, district president of the PMK (Ramadoss faction), with a sickle. Kavin died on the spot. The murder took place when Kavin was returning home along with the two co-workers from a mobile shop, where they were working. An argument broke out between Kavin and the two accused. Enraged over it, Kavin reportedly attacked both of them with a sickle. However, they grabbed the same sickle and attacked Kavin, causing his death on the spot.
The Velliyanai police sent the body of Kavin to the Karur Government Medical College and Hospital for an autopsy. The police have arrested the two juveniles in connection with the murder.
