BJP State president Nainar Nagenthran on Saturday (June 6, 2026) urged party workers not to get distracted by the ongoing political developments in the State or deviate from the path laid down by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other BJP leaders.

Mr. Nagenthran’s statement came a day after some BJP district-level office-bearers switched loyalties to former BJP State president K. Annamalai, who resigned from the party and floated a “political movement.” In a statement, Mr. Nagenthran said the Prime Minister has a vision to transform India into a developed nation by 2047. Every scheme implemented by him has the sole objective of ensuring the nation’s progress.

All BJP functionaries and workers continue to work tirelessly under the guidance of the Prime Minister for the welfare of the nation. Being associated with, or becoming a member of, other organisations that are politically inclined or interested in politics while remaining a member or office-bearer of the BJP amounts to a “betrayal”, he said.

He said Mr. Modi has not extended support to any other political movement. He urged party workers not to become members or supporters of any organisation other than the BJP. “If anyone does so, it will be considered a violation of party discipline,” he added.
