Hyderabad Disaster Response & Asset Protection Agency is starting a phone-in programme for receiving grievances and complaints from the public, in addition to the Prajavani programme being conducted every Monday.
The phone-in programme will be conducted every Saturday between 12 p.m. and 1 p..m., except on holidays, starting from February 7, a statement from HYDRAA informed. People within the purview of Outer Ring Road may call 040-29565750 or 040-29565759 to lodge complaints pertaining to encroachment of lakes, parks, roads and lands meant for public utilities, the note said. Previous complainants may also call the numbers to follow up on their earlier grievances.
Another statement from HYDRAA informed that agency chief A.V.Ranganath conducted field inspection of Kamuni Cheruvu at Kaitalapur on Wednesday, and interacted with the local people who brought up issues such as sewage flow and proliferation of weed in the lake giving rise to mosquitoes. They requested for development of the lake after removing encroachments. Mr.Ranganath has instructed officials to examine the inlet and outlet of the lake and take up development works. He also promised to undertake development of Turka Cheruvu in Bandari Layout of Nizampet.
