Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Thursday said a flash survey conducted by his government over the developments of the past three days indicated that people were finding fault with the BRS for disrupting the proceedings of the Assembly.

Addressing the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) meeting, he said the survey also showed a strong positive perception of the Congress government and its performance.

He alleged that the BRS had deliberately created a ruckus in the Assembly to divert attention from the government’s plans to expose what he described as the previous BRS government’s “misdeeds” relating to Dharani, the land records management system.

The government would use the remaining days of the Assembly session to bring out the alleged irregularities in Dharani and discuss the 22-A lands issue, thus giving clarity, he said. The CM reportedly informed the MLAs that only 3.06 lakh acres were under 22A.

He told the CLP meeting that the BRS chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao, had conspired to prevent the House from functioning smoothly. Despite losing power, the BRS had not shed its arrogance and had spent three days disrupting proceedings by allegedly abusing police officials and public representatives, he said.

Mr. Revanth Reddy asked Congress legislators to ensure their attendance throughout the session and raise issues concerning their constituencies. He cautioned them that their individual performance would have a direct bearing on their prospects of winning a second term.

Focus on SIR and caste census

The Chief Minister also asked Congress legislators to take the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls seriously as there was a conspiracy to delete votes.

Claiming that the adult population of the country had been estimated at 103 crore while the electoral rolls showed only 88 crore voters, he alleged that nearly 15 crore votes had gone missing. “Some danger is lurking somewhere,” he cautioned.

Mr. Revanth Reddy thanked the legislators for their cooperation during the first 1,000 days of the Congress government for introducing programmes that were unprecedented in the country.

Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka, TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud, Ministers also talked on various issues. Party MLAs and MLCs were among those present.
