Karimnagar Police Commissioner Gaush Alam on Monday issued orders invoking the Preventive Detention (PD) Act against a “repeat offender”, who was allegedly involved in several crimes including thefts and sexual harassment of minor girls in the erstwhile Karimnagar district.

The PD Act was invoked against Sampangi Premkumar, 23, a private driver, and a native of Vilasagar village in Rajanna Sircilla district, police said.

He was allegedly involved in kidnap and sexual assault of a minor girl in the past.

He was arrested by the police in connection with a case of sexual assault of a minor girl reported in Thimmapur (LMD Colony) police station limits in July this year.
