Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan has called for the establishment of a Sanatana Dharma Parirakshana Board to protect and promote the spiritual and cultural values of Sanatana Dharma.

In a post on X on Tuesday, he said the proposal would be pursued with the consensus of all stakeholders to ensure that the faith and traditions of Hindus were safeguarded in both letter and spirit.

Highlighting the significance of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), Mr. Pawan Kalyan said that for the global Hindu community, Tirumala was not merely a pilgrimage destination but a sacred spiritual sojourn. “The Tirupati Laddu is not just a sweet; it is an emotion we share with family, friends, and even strangers because it embodies our collective belief and profound faith,” he said.

The Deputy Chief Minister noted that nearly 2.5 crore devotees visit Tirumala every year. “When the sentiments and sacred practices of Sanatanis are mocked or undermined, it not only causes hurt but also shakes the faith and devotion of millions across the world,” he remarked.

Emphasising the importance of mutual respect in a secular democracy, Mr. Pawan Kalyan said, “Secularism must be a two-way street. Protection and respect for our faith cannot be negotiable. Sanatana Dharma is one of the world’s oldest and most enduring civilisations, and it is time we institutionalised its preservation.”

He said the proposed Sanatana Dharma Parirakshana Board would focus on promoting intergenerational transmission of Sanatana values, protecting temples and sacred institutions, and creating global awareness about Hindu traditions.

The Deputy Chief Minister reaffirmed the State government’s commitment to ensuring that Andhra Pradesh remains a beacon of spiritual inclusivity and cultural pride.

Mr. Pawan Kalyan’s remarks come in the wake of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) report, which revealed that adulterated ghee worth ₹250.80 crore was supplied to the TTD between 2019 and 2024.
