NTR District Collector G. Lakshmisha on Friday urged journalists to balance their professional duties with family welfare. He noted that journalists, who act as a vital bridge between the government and the public by highlighting key issues, often overlook personal matters due to work demands.

The Collector visited the final day of a three-day passport mela organised for journalists and interacted with officials. He appreciated the Press Club Amaravati for organising Aadhaar and passport melas consecutively and stressed that keeping personal documents updated was crucial in the digital era.

Members of the Press Club Amaravati executive committee informed him that Sankranti Sambaraalu, being organised for the first time in Vijayawada, would be held on January 4 for members and their families. They thanked him for supporting the club’s initiatives and announced that a driving licence mela would be organised soon, along with helmet distribution as part of a road safety initiative.

Regional Passport Officer S. Vijayalakshmi and Assistant Passport Officer V. Vijayalakshmi attended the inaugural session of the passport mela on December 17 and briefed the mobile passport van staff on guidelines.
