Paddy procurement in Telangana has gained momentum, with the State government targeting procurement of 9 million metric tonnes this season out of an estimated total yield of 14.1 million metric tonnes, according to official sources.
To streamline operations, the government has increased the number of procurement centres compared to previous years. Of the proposed 8,525 centres, over 6,500 are already functional. These include 2,623 centres operated under IKP, 3,278 managed by cooperative societies, and 353 run by other cooperative institutions. Around 43,000 trained personnel have been deployed across districts to oversee procurement activities.
