Over two crore names were removed from the electoral rolls of Uttar Pradesh as the 166-day Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise in the State came to a close on Friday (April 10, 2026), with the release of the final list.

The total deletions (2,04,45,300) represent 13.21% of the total voters in the State before the SIR process commenced in October 2025. Before the SIR, Uttar Pradesh had 15.44 crore electors. In the draft electoral roll published on January 6 after the first phase of the process undertaken by the Election Commission of India, nearly 2.88 crore names were deleted from the roll. Over 84 lakh voters were added to the draft list, with the total electorate now at over 13.39 crore.
