Over 1,000 employees of Electricity Department stage ‘Maha Shanti rally’ in Ongole

Over 1,000 employees of the Electricity Department under the leadership of the A.P. State Power Employees Joint Action Committee (JAC) participated in the Maha Shanti Rally from 132 KV Substation to Collector’s Office in Ongole on Monday.

They formed a human chain at Church Centre demanding immediate resolution to their long-pending 21 issues, especially medical facilities, GPF facility for employees appointed between February 01, 1999, and August 31, 2004, and regularisation of contract employees.

APJAC chairman R. Sanjeeva Rao said, “We have submitted a representation to the District Collector. The main demands include immediate release of the pending four DAs, equal pay for equal work, and payment of PRC arrears to contract staff from April 01, 2022, to August 13, 2023.”

He demanded that the State government fill the vacant posts in all categories and regularisation of Energy Assistants (Junior Line Men Grade II). District JAC chairman Ch. Harikrishna, JAC Convener K. Venkata Ravi, JAC Co-Chairman B. Venkateshwarlu and others were also present.
