One more minister likely for Belagavi: Satish Jarkiholi

The Congress high command is considering the names and profiles of three senior leaders for induction into the Karnataka cabinet. One of them is likely to be made a minister, Satish Jarkiholi said in Belagavi on July 21.

He told reporters that he has no favourites among the aspirants, and he was not rooting for anyone. “I will consider whoever the high command chooses as my cabinet colleague, and I will work with them. Ultimately, the district will benefit,” he said.

“Usually, a Muslim minister is selected from Bengaluru city as it has a large Muslim population. Whether the Muslim leadership in Belagavi will also get a chance to enter the ministry depends on the high command’s final decision. We have to wait and see,” he said.

“The high command will finalise ministerial berths after considering various factors, including the experience of senior leaders and regional balance,” he said.
