One girl died and another sustained serious injuries after they fell from the Maruthimala hills at Muttara in Kollam on Friday. The victims, both Class IX students from Adoor, were found lying on the ground around 6.30 p.m.
The deceased has been identified as Meenu, a native of Peringanad in Adoor. Her friend Shivarna, who sustained serious injuries, has been admitted to a hospital.
The police have launched an investigation into the incident.
