Dhanush’s upcoming film, previously referred to as D55, has officially been titled Om. The makers unveiled the film’s title teaser and release date on Thursday, June 18, 2026. The Tamil film marks the first collaboration between Dhanush and director Rajkumar Periasamy. Apart from Dhanush, it features South superstar Mammootty, Sreeleela and Sai Pallavi in key roles.
Notably, the film is set to be released in theatres on October 16, 2026, in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. However, the makers have kept the plot and storyline of the film under wraps.

While sharing the title teaser on social media, the makers wrote, “Presenting the FIRST STRIKE of #OM His arrival spells pure fire. Starring Dhanush, Mammootty, Sai Pallavi and Sreeleela, #OM is written and directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, with music by Sai Abhyankkar. What is inside Dhanush’s Om title teaser?
The 2-minute and 32-second title teaser hints at the gritty and intense nature of Dhanush’s character. In the poster, Dhanush can be seen standing against a dark backdrop with a serious expression amid heavy rainfall, with the background appearing to be set in a forest. He holds a shotgun in one hand and a blood-stained axe in the other.
The title poster of Dhanush’s Om also features a crowd of people standing with their hands raised, adding to the mysterious atmosphere surrounding the film.

As soon as the title teaser was released on social media, fans and internet users quickly reacted to it, with many praising Dhanush’s role and showing their excitement over Mammootty’s casting. One user commented, “Each frame of D has its own aura.” Another wrote, “Waiting for Mammookka.”

It is significant to note that the film also marks the return of South superstar Mammootty to Tamil cinema. His last Tamil film was the 2018 film Peranbu, directed by Ram. The film is produced by Dhanush’s production banner, Wunderbar Films, in association with R Take Studios, owned by Shraddha Agrawal. In terms of the film’s technical crew, the music is composed by Sai Abhyankkar, cinematography is handled by Ezhil Arasu, and editing is done by Kalaivanan.
