A nursing officer has been arrested under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act for sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl at the ESIC Model Hospital, Asramam. The accused has been identified as Migdad, 38, a native of Poonthura, Thiruvananthapuram, who works as a nurse at the hospital and is also a YouTuber. He was taken into custody by the Kollam East Police.

The incident occurred in the early hours of September 8. According to the complaint, the teenager had entered the hospital elevator to go to a ward when Migdad stepped inside with her and committed the assault. The girl immediately informed her mother about the incident, following which both went to the police station and lodged an official complaint.

After the incident, the accused went into hiding to evade arrest. However, the Kollam East police tracked him down and arrested him from the hospital premises on Wednesday (September 9) night. Charges under relevant provisions of the POCSO Act have been registered against him, and he was subsequently produced before the court and remanded in judicial custody.
