The Kerala High Court on Friday (April 17, 2026) modified its interim order of March 13, 2026, and lifted the restrictions imposed on the nurses’ association and private hospital managements following the strike called by the nurses seeking salary hike.

The court was hearing a plea by the Kerala Private Hospitals’ Association alleging that the nurses’ association was continuing with the strike, at least in two hospitals, despite the court’s directive to the Kerala United Nurses Association (UNA) to defer the strike and to ensure that its members did not abstain from work till March 19. The court had directed both the sides to refrain from any act which may aggravate or perpetuate the differences between the two parties.
