Close to 93 lakh voters in Telangana who filled in their Enumeration Forms and returned them for the ongoing Special Intensive Revision of Electoral Rolls, will receive notices from the respective Electoral Registration Officers. They constitute 35% of the voters who have figured in the Draft Electoral Rolls published on Monday (August 17). A total of 73,39,235 names have been deleted from the rolls, bringing down the number of voters in the State to 2,64,87,213.

Voters may check their names on the draft rolls posted in the Election Commission of India’s website (’https://voters.eci.gov.in’), or send an SMS to 1950, by typing ‘ECI <EPIC number>’ to get their details.

As per the data shared by the office of the Chief Electoral Officer, electors with anomalies/logical discrepancies were 60,50,918 and the electors who did not fill in their details from 2002 SIR were 32,36,659. Both these categories, totalling to 92,87,577 voters, will be issued notices, to which they must furnish replies so that their names are included in the final rolls.

CEO C. Sudharshan Reddy, while briefing the media about the conclusion of the Enumeration phase, said the electors will be sent notices through the Booth Level Officer concerned in prescribed format, and they may furnish the reply through the BLO.

“If in doubt, the ERO or Assistant ERO will call the elector. Personal hearings are not ruled out, if the ERO fells the need,” Mr. Sudharshan Reddy said.

The 119 EROs will be assisted by 892 AEROs and 500-1000 Additional EROs too will be deployed to go through the forms, to ensure completion of the verification process before the designated date — October 15, 2026.

The deleted votes are categorised as Absent, Shifted, Dead and Duplicate (ASDD). A total of 45,18,963 have been listed as ‘Permanently Shifted’, while Absent/Untraceable voters were 11,25,546, apart from 9,22,229 voters who are deceased. A total of 6,70,203 voter names were duplicated, while 1,02,294 deletions were mentioned as ‘Others’, with no explanation. The ASDD electors have been declared with approval from the political party agents, or Booth Level Agents, Mr. Sudharshan Reddy said.

The ASDD list too will be published for the electors so that they can search for their name and file claims and objections before September 16, 2026, Mr.Sudharshan Reddy said. Deleted voters will have the option to apply afresh by filling in Form 6, along with the prescribed declaration form, he said.
