No proposal of power plant in Sagar taluk, says Shivamogga DC

Shivamogga Deputy Commissioner Prabhulinga Kavalikatti has denied reports of a proposal to set up a power plant in Besur village of Sagar taluk.

When The Hindu contacted the DC on Friday, the officer said that a few days ago, the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) had contacted the district administration enquiring about the availability of over 2,000 acres of land in the district for a project.
