DMK president and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Friday said no one can eliminate or destroy the DMK.

“Today someone is dreaming of destroying or dismantling the DMK. Their dreams will definitely not come true. I am only obliged to point out at this time that no one can even touch this movement,” he said speaking at a marriage function at the party’s headquarters Anna Arivalayam in Chennai.

Mr. Stalin citing the special intensive revision (SIR) of electoral rolls currently underway in the State, told party cadres to be vigilant about the exercise.

“We had called for an all-party meeting in Tamil Nadu to oppose SIR and passed a resolution to move the Supreme Court against the exercise. We have filed a case, and that case is ongoing. Even though the legal struggle is on one side, the work of revising the voter list is going on on the other side. We have a huge responsibility to monitor it. The Secular Progressive alliance is holding a protest in all district headquarters on November 11,” he said.

“Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi has exposed with evidence the extent of vote rigging that has taken place in Karnataka and Haryana. We should not allow such a situation to happen in Tamil Nadu,” Mr. Stalin further said.
