In an interaction programme held in Jayanagar, Karnataka State Safai Karmachari Commission Chairperson P. Raghu assured pourakarmikas that there would be ‘no compromise’ on the facilities and rights legally due to them.

The workers from the Bengaluru South City Corporation raised a range of issues, including delays in recruitment, lack of basic facilities, pending wages, provident fund, and biometric attendance problems, and insufficient access to toilets and restrooms.

Mr. Raghu instructed officials to issue pending appointment orders within a week and ensure that every ward and mustering point is equipped with restrooms, toilets, and drinking water. He warned that hotels refusing pourakarmikas access to toilets would face legal action. He also directed officials to maintain public toilets in parks and resolve all salary-related technical issues immediately.
