The 77th Republic Day was celebrated in NLC India Limited (NLCIL) on Monday.

In his address, NLCIL Chairman and Managing Director Prasanna Kumar Motupalli said that 2026 would be a landmark year for NLCIL as it celebrates its 70th anniversary and stands poised to play a pivotal role in strengthening the country’s energy security.

He also unveiled the new logo of NLCIL marking seven decades of its illustrious journey since its inception in 1956.

He also outlined NLCIL’s recent achievements, including the commissioning of Unit II of the Ghatampur Thermal Power Project, 300 MW solar power project at Barsingar in Rajasthan and the solar power project in the mined-out area in Neyveli.

The CMD, who also garlanded the statue of Mahatma Gandhi on the premises, said the company had recorded the highest-ever half-yearly operational revenue of over ₹8,000 crore.

The senior most worker of NLCIL, J. Sivashanmugam, along with his spouse S. Manjula, was honoured on the occasion. Tricycles were presented to differently-abled persons.
