NLC India Renewables Limited (NIRL), a subsidiary of NLC India Ltd. (NLCIL) has signed a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with SJVN Limited (SJVNL), a Navaratna Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Power for establishment of a 200 MW wind power project.

According to NLCIL, the PPA was signed in the presence of NLCIL Chairman and Managing Director Prasanna Kumar Motupalli and SJVNL Chairman and Managing Director Bhupender Gupta in Chennai on Tuesday.

The PPA is part of SJVNL’s 600 MW Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) connected wind power project (Wind-2 tranche), awarded through a tariff-based competitive bidding. The project is expected to generate approximately 500 million units of green energy per year.

The PPA also reflects the strong collaboration between the two Central Public Sector Enterprises, aimed at accelerating India’s renewable energy deployment while ensuring long-term energy security.
