NIA team conducts search in Kothagudem

Sleuths of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday conducted a search at a house in Madhura Basti in the coal town of Kothagudem in Bhadradri Kothagudem district as part of an ongoing probe into a terror conspiracy case.

According to sources, the NIA team examined the data in the mobile phone and laptop of a ‘suspect’ during the search operation. However, no arrests were made in connection with the case in the coal town.

The search operation that began at the crack of the dawn lasted for nearly two hours.

Sources added that the search was part of a detailed probe into the recent ‘Vizianagaram terror conspiracy case’ to uncover terrorism-related activities, including radicalisation of youth at the behest of some global terrorist organisations.
