The National Green Tribunal-southern bench based at Chennai on Thursday dismissed an application filed by BRS party leader Patolla Karthik Reddy challenging the Musi Riverfront Development Project initiated by the Telangana government.

While the petitioner contended that the government started executing the project without securing valid environmental clearance, the bench observed that the grounds on which he opposed the project were already covered under the Terms of Reference (ToR) issued by the State Environmental Assessment Authority. The petitioner wanted the bench to restrain the government from undertaking any developmental activities on Musi river front.
