Tirupati district’s new Superintendent of Police L. Subbarayudu said that the focus will be on making Tirupati a ‘Drugs free district’, apart from cracking the whip on cybercrime and ensuring safety of women.

After offering prayers at Sri Venkateswara temple at Tirumala, Mr. Subbarayudu formally took charge as the Superintendent of Police of Tirupati district on Sunday (September 14, 2025).

He acknowledged the drug menace prevalent in the district and vowed to eliminate it from the roots. “Those found transporting, selling or consuming will be booked under the appropriate sections,” he warned.

On the occasion, he said that he would accord top priority to the successful conduct of the annual Brahmotsavams in Tirumala, which is just around the corner.

Responding to rising crime against women, he assured to strengthen the SHE teams.
