The new office complex of the Kochi Corporation, which has come up at Ernakulam Marine Drive, will be inaugurated on Tuesday (October 21, 2025).

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the 1.75 lakh sq ft building, which could cost the civic body around ₹61 crore, at 2.30 p.m., said a communication issued by Mayor M. Anilkumar.

The various offices of the civic body will be spread across the first six floors of the building, covering an area of 1.68 lakh sq ft. The council hall, where the regular meetings of the Kochi Corporation council are held, can accommodate 82 persons. More people could be accommodated in the hall if demand arises. A media enclave and a space for the general public to view the council proceedings had also been provided near the council hall, said Mr. Anilkumar.

Mr. Anilkumar will preside over the inaugural session. Ministers P. Rajeeve and M.B. Rajesh, Hibi Eden, MP, T. J. Vinod, K. Babu, K. J. Maxy and Uma Thomas, MLAs, will attend.

The civic administration has invited former Mayors of Kochi to the function.
