New born abandoned outside government hospital in Nandyal

A new born baby girl was abandoned at the government hospital in Nandikotkur of Nandyal district on Thursday (November 06, 2025). The locals residing near the government hospital heard the cries of the baby from a corner of the hospital and alerted the ICDS officials, who in turn alerted the District Child Protection Unit (DCPU). The DCPU staff, who rescued the infant, said that the baby weighed 1.5 kilograms only and was very weak. The baby was shifted to the Government General Hospital at Nandyal for better treatment.
