National conference on cybersecurity to be held in Mysuru on Oct. 17

The Maharani’s Arts College for Women, in collaboration with the National Institute of Engineering (NIE), will conduct a national conference on cybersecurity and phishing attacks on Friday, October 17.

A release stated that the conference, titled ‘Social Awareness on Cybersecurity and Phishing Attacks: Challenges and Preventive Strategies’, will be held at Maharani’s Arts College and is sponsored by the Indian Council of Social Science Research.

It said that the conference is intended to address the challenge of safeguarding individuals and institutions from data breaches, online fraud, phishing attacks, etc. It will highlight national and global policy frameworks, the importance of community awareness, data protection laws, ethical responsibilities, and safe internet practices.

There will be lectures and paper presentation by experts, and the participants can engage with resource persons on technical, social, and ethical dimensions of cybersecurity.

K.M. Anil Kumar from JSS Science and Technology University will be the chief guest. Rohini Padma, principal, NIE; M.S. Anita, principal, Maharani’s Arts College for Women; and others are scheduled to be present.
