Nara Bhuvaneswari, Managing Trustee of NTR Trust and Managing Director of Heritage Foods, received two prestigious recognitions from the Institute of Directors (IOD), United Kingdom, during a grand ceremony held at the Mayfair Hall in London on Tuesday (November 4, 2025).

She was conferred with the ‘Distinguished Fellowship 2025 Award’ for her exceptional contributions to public service and social impact through the NTR Memorial Trust. Under her leadership, the Trust has implemented several welfare programs, including Sanjeevani Free Health Clinics, Mobile Health Camps, safe drinking water initiatives, and women empowerment and vocational training programmes.

In addition, Heritage Foods Ltd., under Ms. Bhuvaneswari’s stewardship, was honoured with the Golden Peacock Award for Excellence in Corporate Governance in the national FMCG category.

Ms. Bhuvaneswari, in her address, dedicated the honours to the NTR Trust team and the people it serves. She reaffirmed the Trust’s mission to promote equality, health, and education, saying:

“NTR Trust strives to be like the sea, offering its resources to everyone, and like the sun, spreading its light equally across society. Our goal is to ensure that even the most underprivileged can live with dignity and opportunity.”

The event also honoured other distinguished personalities, including Dr. Krishnaprasad Chigurupati, Professor Peter Bonefield, and Harsh Bina Jhaveri.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu attended the ceremony and congratulated his wife on receiving the awards. Extending his appreciation to the Institute of Directors for its 35 years of service to the corporate world, the Chief Minister lauded the organisation for recognising Bhuvaneswari’s commitment to ethical leadership and social progress.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Naidu highlighted India’s growing global stature and emphasised the importance of vision and technological adaptability. He noted that Andhra Pradesh had attracted $120 billion in new investments within a year, crediting proactive policies and technology-driven governance for the achievement.

“Artificial Intelligence and emerging technologies will shape the future,” Mr. Naidu said. “Governments must evolve with changing times, just as industries do. We are preparing Andhra Pradesh for this technological revolution with initiatives like Google’s largest AI centre in Visakhapatnam.”

He also underscored the state’s innovative use of data analytics during Cyclone Montha to minimise damage, as well as the introduction of over 700 citizen services via WhatsApp. Mr. Naidu reiterated his vision of making Amaravati a blue-green capital city, aligning with India’s climate and sustainability goals.
