Nandyal police have traced and recovered a hand bag containing gold jewellery that was forgotten in an auto within a few hours of receiving a complaint.

Nandyal Circle Inspector G. Sudhakar Reddy, in a statement on Saturday (October 18, 2025), said they have received a complaint from a resident of Nadigadda Shaik Rahiman stating that his wife forgot her hand bag in an auto in which they travelled from Nadigadda to Railway Station. Mr. Rahiman said the bag contained eight tola gold necklace and one tola of other ornament.

Immediately, the police went through CCTV footage in the RTC bus stand and also from the footage at the command control centre and identified the auto in Viswa Nagar. The auto driver was identified as Mabu Hussain and the bag was recovered from the auto. The bag was handed over to the complainant with the gold ornaments intact.

“The police received the complaint around 6.30 p.m. on Friday (October 17, 2025), and the auto was traced and hand bag returned to the complainant by 8 p.m.” the inspector said.
