Train services on Namma Metro’s Yellow Line were briefly disrupted on Wednesday (November 12, 2025) morning following a technical snag in one of the trains, the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) said in a statement. This is the fourth such technical snag on the Yellow Line since its launch.

According to officials, the issue led to delays in train operations, causing inconvenience to commuters during the peak morning rush. The BMRCL informed that services were affected for a short duration due to the snag, but teams were immediately deployed to address the problem.

In an update issued later, BMRCL confirmed that the technical issue was resolved at 8:47 a.m., and normal operations were fully restored. “All trains on the Yellow Line are now in service and will be running as per the timetable,” the statement read.

Technical issue in the signalling system

A senior official from BMRCL said the disruption was caused by a technical issue in the signalling system. “The snag was traced to a signalling fault that temporarily affected train movement on the Yellow Line. Our team acted swiftly to identify and rectify the issue, ensuring services were restored at the earliest,” the official added.

Aparna. R, a regular commuter on the Yellow Line from BTM Layout, said, “I was on my way to work in Electronics City when the train suddenly stopped between stations. The delay lasted for about 15 minutes, and many passengers were anxious because there were no immediate announcements. It was a bit stressful, especially during the morning rush. Since such snags are becoming routine, BMRCL should be more transparent about these issues and ensure that the Metro runs smoothly.”

Fourth technical snag

The Yellow Line, which connects R.V. Road to Bommasandra, is one of the city’s key metro corridors, catering to thousands of daily commuters.

Wednesday’s (November 12, 2025) technical issue marks the fourth such disruption on the 18.82-km Yellow Line stretch since it opened for commercial operations on August 11, a day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated it.

Earlier, on September 22, October 12, and October 16, the Yellow Line experienced brief service interruptions caused by technical issues. Responding to concerns over the repeated glitches, a senior BMRCL official said the problems were minor in nature and not serious.
