K.B. Jagadeesh, a native of Kaipattoor near Adoor, has been appointed as the secretary of the Nair Service Society (NSS). This decision was made during a meeting of the NSS board of directors and executive council on Saturday. The position had been lying vacant following the death of Harikumar Koyikkal in April this year.

Mr. Jagadeesh, who retired as a Professor after teaching in various NSS colleges, is currently serving as the president of the Adoor NSS taluk union. He was elected to the NSS board of directors after Kalanjoor Madhu was removed from the position in June 2023.

Since G. Sukumaran Nair assumed the role of NSS general secretary-in-charge and was later elected as general secretary in 2011, the secretary position had remained unfilled till May 2025.
