Tamil Nadu BJP president Nainar Nagenthran has urged Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) president and Chief Minister M.K. Stalin to take immediate action after a video surfaced allegedly showing a DMK functionary using abusive language while intervening in a dispute between two vehicle owners in Chennai.
In a social media post on Saturday (December 27, 2025), Mr. Nagenthran referred to the video, which purportedly shows the DMK’s 63rd ward secretary from Chepauk attempting to resolve the quarrel through an informal “katta panchayat”. He alleged that the functionary verbally abused members of the public.
Accusing the ruling DMK of “encouraging arrogance and lawlessness” among its cadre, the BJP leader said such behaviour contradicted the party’s claims of rationalism, social justice, and development-oriented politics.
Calling the episode shameful, Mr. Nagenthran said it undermined the Chief Minister’s assertion that he would not allow Tamil Nadu to “hang its head in shame”. He demanded the immediate registration of cases against the ward secretary for abusive conduct and against a car owner accused of assaulting a two-wheeler rider.
