Kadapa MP Y.S. Avinash Reddy submitted a representation to the chairman of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), Santosh Kumar Yadav, seeking the development of infrastructure along the Kadapa-Kurnool National Highway (NH 40) due to the rising traffic in that section.
The MP emphasised the importance of service roads, a drainage network, and bus shelters at Chennur, which is located along the highway.
As Chennur has witnessed huge population growth and increased traffic volume in the recent years, the absence of essential infrastructure such as service roads caused a spurt in accidents, he stated in the representation, appealing to the NHAI to take up the construction work immediately.
In response, Mr. Yadav assured to review the issues flagged by the MP and take up appropriate measures soon.
