Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, MP, Mysuru, inaugurated the upgraded building of the Government Primary School at Kumbarkoppal on Thursday and interacted with students.

The upgradation project was taken up under MP Local Area Development Fund and after the inauguration, Mr.Yaduveer held interaction with the students on a range of issues relevant to the present times.

The issues spanned from heritage to environment conservation and the MP engaged in a lecture-cum-interaction session. He pointed out that there were different architectural styles in India that were distinct from the structures elsewhere in the world and said that it was important to be aware of heritage of Mysuru.

He said Mysuru was not merely about the palace alone and one must retain the essence of what constitutes Mysuru including its heritage and culture, and pass it on to posterity.

He switched to the topic of promoting swadeshi and the use of indigenous products, and said that the new generation should display inclination towards desi products. This, he said, will be in sync with the slogan ‘Vocal for Local’, and gives a boost to swadeshi products. Children were also urged to protect environment and grow trees and eschew activities inimical to nature and environment.

Calling upon the students to reduce consumption of materials that products carbon, Mr.Yaduveer appealed to the students to plant and grow more trees and encouraged them to recycle waste. Even buildings can also be constructed using waste materials, he added.
