The mother of BRS MLA from Jubilee Hills, late Maganti Gopinath, has lodged a formal complaint with the Raidurgam police, seeking a detailed inquiry into the ‘mysterious circumstances’ surrounding her son’s death and alleged negligence by those responsible for his medical care.

In her letter to the Station House Officer, 92-year-old Maganti Mahananda Kumari stated that her son, who had been suffering from multiple ailments and comorbidities, died at AIG Hospital, Gachibowli, on June 8, 2025. She alleged that there were inconsistencies in the hospital’s handling of his treatment and the timing of his death declaration, indicating foul play.

Gopinath, she said, had undergone kidney removal but did not receive proper follow-up care. His medical reports, she added, showed rising creatinine levels and other abnormalities over several months, yet no timely intervention was made.

“Their inaction and negligence led to an unwarranted delay in initiating dialysis,” she wrote, asserting that this lapse caused his condition to worsen and led to his untimely demise.

Mahananda Kumari further alleged that she was denied access to her son while he was in intensive care at AIG Hospital. According to her, hospital security, acting on written instructions signed by one Dishira, barred her from seeing him.

She claimed that, on June 6, 2025, while she was prevented from entering the ICU, BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao was allowed to meet her son. “After his visit, KTR ignored my presence and left without any explanation,” she said, adding that this deepened her suspicion that “something malicious or manipulative was being orchestrated” around her son’s final days.

She urged the police to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the events leading to her son’s death, examine the roles of those involved in his medical care, and probe the alleged interference and obstruction she faced at the hospital. She also sought scrutiny of the conduct of his personal staff and gunmen at the time of the medical emergency.

“I strongly believe that an impartial investigation will reveal the extent of negligence, manipulation, and possible foul play surrounding his death,” she wrote.

The complaint includes copies of Gopinath’s medical reports, histopathology records, and documents related to his nephrectomy and cancer diagnosis.

The Raidurgam police booked a case and initiated a probe to verify the allegations.
