Montha cyclone: Nine trains originating in Visakhapatnam cancelled on October 28

As many as nine trains originating in Visakhapatnam and one from Bhubaneswar, passing through Visakhapatnam, to various destinations have been cancelled on Tuesday (October 28, 2025) in view of cyclone Montha, which is expected to make its landfall near Kakinada on Tuesday night (October 28, 2025).

“The cancellation has been done in the interest of passenger safety as a precautionary measure based on IMD alerts and reports,” Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Pavan Kumar said in a statement on Tuesday (October 28, 2025).

The trains cancelled are: 12727 Visakhapatnam-Hyderabad Godavari Express, 22203 Visakhapatnam-Secunderabad Duranto Express, 20811 Visakhapatnam-Nanded Express, 12739 Visakhapatnam-Secunderabad Garib Rath Express, 20805 Visakhapatnam-New Delhi A.P. superfast express, 17220 Visakhapatnam-Machilipatnam Express, 18519 Visakhapatnam LTT (Mumbai) Express, 17244 Rayagada-Guntur Express, 11020 Bhubaneswar-CST Mumbai Konark express, 12861 Visakhapatnam-Mahabubnagar Express.

Train no. 12703 Howrah-Secunderabad Falaknuma express, leaving Howrah on October 28, will run in diverted route via Vizianagaram, Titlagarh, Lakholi, Raipur, Nagpur and Ballharshah. Eleven other long distance trains have been rescheduled to leave their originating station late by one-and-half hour to 12 hours.

Passengers and the general public are advised to check with respective railway inquiry offices or in official website for the latest updates on train operations.
