Mizoram is now connected to India’s railway network with its first-ever train. The Bairabi–Sairang railway line, spanning 51.38 km, links Aizawl to Silchar in Assam, cutting travel time from ten hours by road to just three hours by train. Built at a cost of ₹5,021 crore, the project features 48 tunnels, 55 major bridges, and the iconic Bridge No. 144, taller than the Qutub Minar.
