A 15-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted by a 22-year-old youth in Rajamahendravaram city. The incident came to light after the minor girl, an resident of a social welfare hostel in the city, did not return to the hostel in the evening.
The Two Town police. Native of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Konaseema district said: “On Monday, the girl, a class-X student of a government school, obtained permission from her hostel warden to go out to purchase cosmetics at 4 p.m. She did not return to the hostel till 7 p.m.”
Initial investigation revealed that the girl allegedly went out with her boyfriend, who reportedly took her to a nearby lodge, and allegedly sexually assaulted her before dropping her back at the hostel, said the police.
The accused a native of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Konaseema district, is absconding. A case has been registered under the Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO), Act, said the police.
