Andhra Pradesh Tourism Minister Kandula Durgesh on Tuesday said the State would soon find a prominent place on the global tourism map, given its rich tourism potential. Participating in the World Travel Market (WTM) 2025 being held in London from November 4 to 6, the Minister said Andhra Pradesh was striving to emerge as a global tourism leader through a series of investor-friendly initiatives. He said the State aims to promote its diverse attractions — including natural landscapes, heritage sites such as Gandikota, and spiritual destinations — while focusing on sustainable development and enhanced visitor experiences.

Mr. Durgesh, along with Special Secretary (Tourism) Ajay Jain, inaugurated both the Indian Ministry of Tourism and Andhra Pradesh Tourism stalls at the event. The State’s stall featured a Kuchipudi dance performance, highlighting Andhra Pradesh’s vibrant culture, and showcased its scenic beauty, historical forts, coastline, and cultural heritage.

The Minister held discussions with more than 20 international tour operators, hotel groups, and investors from the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions) sector, as well as travel media and tourism boards. He apprised them of the investment opportunities and tourism packages offered by the Andhra Pradesh government. Visitors to the stall were also treated to Araku coffee, Pootharekulu, and displays of colourful Etikoppaka and Kondapalli toys.

Mr. Durgesh briefed the international media on the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Policy 2024–29, which accords industrial status to the tourism sector, and assured full government support to investors. Addressing groups of international visitors, he reiterated the government’s commitment to earning global recognition for Andhra Pradesh Tourism.
