Roads and Building Minister B.C. Janardhan Reddy on Monday performed ’bhumi puja’ for the construction of Zilla Parishad High School building at his native village of Yanakandla in Banaganapalle mandal.

Addressing the gathering of students, parents and villagers after launching the works on the new building, Mr. Janardhan Reddy said that the building was being constructed with a cost of ₹2 crore with the support of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and HRD Minister Nara Lokesh. The building with eight rooms will be completed before the commencement of the next academic year.

He said that the students of Erragudi, Govinda Dinne and Krishnapuram villages were facing difficulties to reach Banaganapalle for their studies. The construction of the new school will benefit students from villages near Yanakandla. “I will be fulfilling my dream of constructing a school in my village,” he said.

Mr. Janardhan Reddy also inaugurated the newly-constructed internal CC Roads and drains in the village. He also laid foundation for the construction of TDP party office in the village.

Earlier, the Minister conducted a surprise visit to the anganwadi centre and government primary school at Pendekanti Nagar in Sanjamala mandal headquarters of Banaganapalle Assembly constituency limits. He asked the teachers to ensure 100 per cent attendance in the school and anganwadi centre. He asked the Mandal Education officials to make available all basic needs required for 15 days at the anganwadi centre.

Mr. Janardhan Reddy also distributed CMRF cheques worth ₹25.98 lakh to 41 beneficiaries at his camp office in Banaganapalle.
