Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development Narayana on Tuesday (January 13) laid the foundation stone for road construction works at Karlapudi village in Amaravati mandal. He participated in the programme along with local MLA Bhashyam Praveen.

The foundation was laid for the construction of a 2.9-kilometre road connecting Karlapudi and Anantavaram. The Minister directed the contracting agency to complete the road works within a week, stressing the need for speedy execution to address long-pending local demands.

The road project gained urgency after farmers, whom the Minister met during the launch of Land Pooling Scheme (LPS) 2.0 a day earlier, requested immediate construction of the road. Responding to their request, Mr.Narayana said that he ordered preparation of estimates and entrusted the works to a contract agency without delay.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said land pooling is underway for several projects in Amaravati. On the very first day, farmers from three villages in Amaravati mandal contributed around 1,000 acres, completing nearly 25% of land pooling in those villages. He congratulated the farmers for voluntarily giving their land and appreciated the MLA for actively persuading them.

Mr. Narayana said key projects such as the Inner Ring Road and the International Sports City are essential for Amaravati’s development. The MLA stated that 80% land pooling would be completed within a month, after which the master plan design would be finalised and tenders called. He assured that internal roads in plots allotted to farmers would be completed on priority.
