Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) Ponguru Narayana performed ‘bhumi puja’ for the reconstruction of the Vinayaka temple near Bujjammarevu in Nellore city’s 50th division on Sunday.

By performing the bhumi puja, the Minister fulfilled a promise made to his constituents ahead of the 2024 general elections to reconstruct the temple. Originally, the temple was a small, dilapidated structure, and State Warehousing Corporation Director K. Srinivasulu had appealed to Mr. Narayana before the elections to undertake its reconstruction.

“We will complete the reconstruction work with an outlay of ₹40 lakh at the earliest, in view of the temple’s growing popularity among the local public, as evident from the increased footfall,” he announced, after attending the religious event along with his spouse.

Nellore TDP women’s wing president K. Revathi and former ZPTC member Vijetha Reddy also took part in the event.
