Native of Laalacheruvu area, Ms. Ramalakshmi was admitted to the hospital with acute renal failure on February 16, a day after she reportedly consumed milk adulterated with ‘Ethylene Glycol’.

In an official release issued on March 7, East Godavari District Collector Kirthi Chekuri has stated: “As many as 20 persons have suffered acute renal failure after they consumed milk adulterated with Ethylene Glycol in Rajamahendravaram city”.

Nine persons, including three infants, are still battling for life with acute renal failure. The State government has been offering free medical treatment to the patients.
