Hyderabad Police Commissioner, V.C. Sajjanar, conducted midnight patrolling across the South West Zone on Sunday (November 23, 2025) night, carrying out unannounced inspections aimed at improving night policing and on-ground vigilance.

Between 12 a.m. and 3 a.m., the officer moved through MD Lines, Asham Nagar and Defence Colony under Langar Houz Police Station limits, visiting the houses of several rowdy sheeters without sirens or prior notice.

The commissioner asked them about their past conduct, present occupation and daily routine, cautioning them against slipping back into crime and urging them to maintain lawful behaviour.

He also inspected key routes and sensitive junctions under the limits of Langar Houz and Toli Chowki Police Stations. At Toli Chowki, he checked hotels, shops and late-night establishments, warning proprietors not to operate beyond permitted hours.

During the rounds, the officer also interacted with patrolling teams, reviewing their deployment, patrol points and response procedures. He later examined the general diary, night-duty entries, duty rosters and attendance registers at Toli Chowki Police Station to assess operational readiness.

Mr. Sajjanar said the surprise checks form part of ongoing efforts to reinforce night-time policing under the People’s Welfare Policing initiative. He noted that such field visits help strengthen accountability, improve responsiveness and ensure safety for residents during late hours.

He instructed officers to maintain visible policing and remain alert, stressing that vigilant monitoring and swift response remain essential to upholding public confidence in the police.
